Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease 4 X 8 loaf pan.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Remove from heat.
Stir in sugar. Add bananas; mash with potato masher. Add egg; beat briefly with spoon until mixed. Add flour, salt and baking soda; beat with spoon until mixed. Stir in 1 cup of nuts. Pour into prepared pan and spread remaining nuts on top.
Bake for 45 – 60 minutes.
