Banana "ice cream" instead of regular ice cream

  • 3 ripe bananas; peel and freeze
  • Directions: simply blend the frozen bananas (blend enough for about ½ cup of banana ice cream)

    Frozen grapes instead of frozen treats on a stick

  • 1 bunch of red grapes
  • Directions: Wash and dry grapes thoroughly. Pluck them from stems. Place them in covered plastic container in freezer and allow for 3 hour or until frozen. Serve frozen.

    Dark chocolate covered strawberries instead of package of chocolate candy

  • 8 oz of dark chocolate morsels
  • 18-20 large, fresh strawberries
  • Waxed paper
  • Directions: Wash the strawberries. Melt the chocolate morsels in the microwave in 20-30 second intervals until smooth and completely melted. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate swirling it around the melted chocolate in one layer near the top. Allow chocolate to drip off. Place dipped strawberries on a waxed paper. Allow them to dry and set up completely.

    Oat covered apple instead of apple pie

  • 2 medium apples
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Core apples without going all the way to the bottom so you create a place to hold your oats. Mix together the oats, honey and cinnamon and stuff the whole in the apple. In a baking dish, add ¼ cup water and then place your apples inside the dish and cover with aluminum foil. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10 additional minutes.

    Mini chocolate covered cherry smoothie instead of smoothie

  • ½ cup frozen tart cherries
  • ½ cup 1% organic milk
  • ½ scoop chocolate whey protein powder
  • Blend and enjoy!

    Skinny cheesecake stuffed strawberries instead of NY Style cheesecake with strawberries

  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 8 oz light cream cheese
  • ½ cup non-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Graham cracker crumbs
  • Directions: Wash and dry your strawberries. Combine cream cheese, yogurt, honey and mix until smooth. Spoon a little bit of cream cheese mixture into each strawberry and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.

    Banana chocolate chip cookies instead of regular chocolate chip cookies

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • ½ cup quick cooking oats
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
  • Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix ingredients together and drop on cookie sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes. Let cool

    Chia pudding instead of rice pudding

  • 1 ½ cups 2% organic milk
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1/3 cup chia seeds
  • Directions: In a small bowl, whisk together milk and honey. Sir in chia seeds. Chill in refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until the chia seeds puff and expand. Prior to serving, stir once before placing into serving dishes.

    Tart cherry quinoa dessert instead of cherry pie

  • ¾ cup quinoa, uncooked and rinsed
  • 10 oz tart cherry juice
  • ¼ cup dried tart cherries
  • Directions: Add the quinoa, juice and dried tart cherries to a saucepan and cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until the liquid has been absorbed and the quinoa is cooked. Chill for at least 1 hour prior to serving.
