Marie Haycox’s Rustic Apple Tart Recipe


2 firm Apples – peeled cored and thinly sliced
1 premade raw Pie Crust
1 teaspoon AP Flour
1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
1 Egg yolk beaten with 1 tablespoon water – egg wash
1 tablespoons sanding, crystal or white sugar


Preheat oven 425 degrees

On a lined baking pan or jelly roll pan, place pie dough circle

Dust the center with flour than brown sugar

Place apple slices in the center in an even layer

Take 5 large pinches of the pie dough folding over and using egg wash to secure

Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with sanding sugar

Bake 25-30 minutes until browned on top
