Sara Lynn Cauchon’s Brain Cupcakes

Ingredients

Cupcakes
24 chocolate cupcakes
2 cups cherry pie filling
1 cup butter
4-5 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream
Red food colouring

Fake Blood
1 cup sweetener syrup (your choice)
Red food colouring
Blue food colouring
1/4 cup water

Directions

Bake the cupcakes according to package directions. Use a cupcake corer to remove the center of each cupcake. Pipe some cherry filling into each cupcake.

Prepare the buttercream by beating the butter, powdered sugar, cream, and red food coloring. Transfer the buttercream to a piping bag with round tip.

Pipe a line down the center of cupcake and around one side. Then create a squiggle pattern on one half of the cupcake. Repeat the squiggle pattern on top. Then do the second side. Use a syringe to top each cupcake with ‘blood’.
