Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off


American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., WABC-TV, LIVE with Kelly and Ryan (“LIVE”) and Disney/ABC Domestic Television (Hereinafter collectively referred to as “Sponsor”) 77 West 66th Street, New York, NY 10023.


Entrants must be: 18 years of age or older as of May 25, 2018; a legal resident of the 50 U.S., D.C. or Canada (except the Province of Quebec), with the exception of Guam, Puerto Rico and all other U.S. territories and possessions and where prohibited by law.

By participating, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsors which shall be final in all respects. By entering, Entrants agree to participate in a videotaped or live broadcast, in connection with the Contest, which may be used by Sponsor in any and all media, now or hereafter, worldwide in perpetuity, without further obligation or compensation to the Entrants or any third party. Entrants must be able to travel to New York and be a part of tapings of “Live” during the months of July, July and August 2018 when the “Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off” is conducted (May 29 – August 11, 2018).

Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six (6) months, performed services for American Broadcasting Companies, Inc., WABC-TV, “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Disney/ABC Domestic Television, and any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest and , or supplying the prize, and their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter to win. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year. Potential Winner may be required to provide proof of eligibility prior to prize award. Subject to all applicable federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations.



“Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off” Contest (the “Challenge”) Friday, May 25, 2018, at 9:00 am ET, and ends on or about Monday, August 6, 2018 at 3pm. ET (the “Contest Period”).

During the Contest period, “Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off” challenge consists of three (3) different food categories, (“burgers, skewers, and tacos” in no particular order), and those food categories will each be featured on the show each week during three-week category blocks. For each category block, there will be one segment per week, featuring one (1) entrant’s (“Finalists”) recipe, and a demonstration by the Finalist on its preparation and presentation to be aired on “Live” with the hosts. “Live” will provide food materials and ingredients needed to prepare the dish for the segment. If a finalist prefers to bring certain ingredients from home, they may do so at his or her discretion.

After each weekly cooking segment, viewers can go online to “Like” on Instagram, “heart” and “Re-Tweet” original Tweet on Twitter, “Like” on YouTube, “heart” on “Live’s” website, plus “Like” and “Share” on Facebook to rate (“vote”) that week’s “Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off” finalist recipe (voting specifics defined below). All of the means of “voting” will be tallied at the end of each voting period. The “vote” for that week’s recipe/ chef can be submitted starting at 10:00AM ET and ending at 3:00pm ET on the Wednesday the week after the Finalist’s cooking segment airs. (Timing schedule below)

At the end of each “Challenge” the Winner will be notified and the next Challenge will commence following the schedule below. The final “Challenge” will conclude on Friday, August 10th, and that particular food category winner will be announced on or around Friday, August 17th.


Viewers should watch “Live with Kelly and Ryan” from May 25th, 2018 to August 6th, 2018. The “Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off” (the “Challenge”) will be announced during the broadcast on Friday, May 25, 2018, (between the hours of 9:00a to 10:00a ET, in most aired markets).

To enter the challenge, entrants must submit a video no longer than 30 seconds telling us why your personal recipe is the best. You must appear in the video and it should not contain any music or third party logos, brands, products, trademarks or copyrighted material or you may risk disqualification. The video submitted should display your personality, creativity, passion for grilling, and explain / show what your dish is. The dish you describe will be the dish that will be prepared on “Live,” if selected. The dish must be an original recipe.

To submit your video, Entrants should go to: a) (“Live Website”). Entrants must click on the “Fired Up Friday Fan Foodie Face Off” link and then follow the online instructions to complete the submission form, which requests the following information: first and last name, address, city, state/province, zip/postal code, phone number(s), email address. Entrants will also find online instructions about how to upload the video submission. Only one video submission may be submitted per person / per email for the duration of the Contest. You may not submit your Entry in any other contest or promotion.

The entry may include other people in addition to Entrant, provided that any such persons or their legal guardians have authorized Entrant to do so. Only an Entrant may be eligible for a prize. Each Entrant and his/her Entry must comply with all Contest eligibility requirements as set forth in these Official Rules as well as comply with the Entrant video requirements in section 7 below.

Sponsors, in their sole discretion, may disqualify any Entry (as defined below) that is deemed inappropriate, illegal or offensive, or otherwise not be considered a valid Entry, and Entrant will not be eligible to win the prize.

You warrant and represent that your Entry and all of the materials submitted by you are truthful and original to you (and not based on or derived from any other materials), that you own all necessary rights in and to the recipe and video, which are fully transferable, and that you are not subject to any agreement which would interfere with your ability to grant all of the rights to be provided hereunder. Accordingly, you further warrant and represent that: 1) you have the right to enter into the Contest and grant the rights hereunder without the need for permission from or payment to any other party; and 2) the exercise of the rights set forth in these Contest Rules by Sponsors will not violate any third party rights and will not violate any contractual obligations or confidential relationships which you may have to or with any third party.

All Entries must be submitted in compliance with these Contest Rules, and all incomplete Entries will be disqualified. . Mass Entries or Entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated methods will be disqualified. Sponsors are not responsible for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions, or for technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to electronic malfunction or damage of any network, hardware or software. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. No responsibility is assumed for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, Entries; or any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or electronic Entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web-site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials from the Contest. In the event of a dispute over an electronic Entry, the prize will be awarded to the owner of the e-mail account, not the name on the entry form. Each Friday (unless otherwise noted and up to the sole discretion of “Live”) during the Challenge Period, a selected entrant (“finalist”) will appear on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” (“Live”) to demonstrate his or her submitted original recipe. Finalists will need to be available to travel to “Live” in order to demonstrate their dish. If the Finalist cannot travel during the dates assigned by “Live,” and refuses the travel itinerary provided, he or she will forfeit his or her spot to continue on in the Contest. All Finalists in the running to win in their respective food category blocks, must appear on “Live” to demonstrate their dish in order to be considered for the public vote, and therefore the Grand Prize for the food category.

Finalists with highest scores for each entry period will have the opportunity to travel to New York for an Appearance in a segment on “Live.” The Appearance includes round trip travel from finalist’s hometown to New York, NY. If finalist resides in the New York area, offer of travel accommodations are subject to “Live’s” discretion. The Appearance on “Live” is subject to availability and has no monetary value.

Eligible Entries will be judged by designated staff of Sponsors in their sole discretion. The judges will evaluate eligible Entries on the basis of: 1. Entrant personality (25%), 2. Recipe Creativity (25%), 3. Entrant’s passion for grilling (25%), and 4. explain / show what your dish is (25%) (Collectively “Judging Criteria”). Each Video will receive a score based on the Judging Criteria for a maximum of up to one-hundred (100) points. Three (3) Entrant Videos will be chosen for each food category (categories are: burgers, skewers, and tacos) that receive the highest scores based on the Judging Criteria.

Decisions of the judges are final as to all Contest-related matters, including, without limitation, in case of a tie. As part of the judging process, judges may contact Entrants to request additional information in assessing potential for on-air appeal and verification of eligibility.

In the event that a Winner is deemed ineligible, fails to comply with Contest procedures, is not available to participate or claim the prize during specified dates, or does not respond to Sponsors’ notification of winning within twenty-four (24) hours, then the prize will be forfeited and the potential Winner will be disqualified without compensation of any kind and the first runner-up Entrant will be selected to win the prize, time permitting, or Sponsors reserve the right to terminate the Contest or Segment at their sole discretion.


No professional video. Video may not contain music in background.

Each Entrant and video must adhere to the following guidelines and requirements:

1) Video file can be asf, asx, avi, divx, dv, dvx, m4v, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpg, qt, 3g2, 3gp, 3ivx,3vx. 2) The video file must not exceed 50MB. 3) Video must be original and Entrant’s own creation, and Entrant warrants that he/she has secured all necessary rights relating to its use and the use of the content in the video 4) Video cannot contain the phone number(s), address, email address of the Entrant or any other person. 5) Video must not contain or depict any objectionable, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, or vulgar material and must be otherwise fit for publication/posting/uploading, as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion. 6) Video must not include materials (language, phrases, quotations, trademarks, artwork, or products or brand names not owned or licensed by the Sponsor or its affiliates) etc.), belonging to or copyrighted by third parties. 7) Video must not contain any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, or any other form of solicitation. 8) Entrant represents and warrants that he/she has obtained permission of any person (or if applicable, the legal guardian of any minor) included in the Video.

All submissions will remain property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged.


After each weekly cooking segment, viewers can go online to vote on the video (“Public Voting Period”), to determine who win the grand prize (1) for their food category. Each Voter can vote based on the Judging Criteria for one (1) Finalist video (“Vote(s)”) on “Live’s Website, Facebook page, Instagram site, YouTube page, and/or the Show’s Twitter site (see chart below) (“Public Voting”). VOTERS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM VOTING BASED ON THE FOLLOWING: RACE, GENDER, COLOR, RELIGION, SEX, NATIONAL ORIGIN, AGE, MARITAL STATUS, DISABILITY, MEDICAL CONDITION, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, CITIZENSHIP, OR ANY OTHER BASIS PROTECTED BY APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE, PROVINCIAL, OR LOCAL LAW, ORDINANCE OR REGULATION. Voters must be thirteen (13) years of age or older as of date of entry and current legal residents of one (1) of the fifty (50) states of the U.S., D.C., or Canada (excluding Quebec).

Public Voting will count for 100% of the total score for each Finalist. Sponsor’s tracking and reporting system will account and log the Public Voting score for each Finalist. Each Finalist may vote for his/her own Video and can invite and encourage their friends to vote for his/her own Entry. If it is brought to the attention of Sponsor that a Finalist (or a Voter) has voted using any kind of script, vote rigging, voter exchanges, vote-buying, multiple accounts, repeat re-Tweets, Sharing, or Favoriting from any other platform or posts other than one (1) of the Show’s platforms listed in the chart above, or is otherwise in violation of these Official Rules, his/her Vote(s) will be disqualified. Limit one (1) Vote per person at per day during the Public Voting Period. Limit one (1) Vote per person at,, and during the entire Public Voting Period. Any attempted form of voting other than as described herein shall be null and void. The Finalist who received the highest number of Votes will be deemed the winner (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the Official Rules) (“Winner”). In the event of a tie, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, shall choose the Winner based on an evaluation of which Video is superior overall taking all Judging Criteria into consideration. The voting platforms in this Contest, are in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook (as previously mentioned in section 3), Instagram, and Twitter and each platform is completely released of all liability by each Voter in this Contest. Sponsor has no affiliation with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and no responsibility for or control of any matters relating to each platform or their accounts. If a Voter opts to Vote on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram, he/she is providing his/her information to the Sponsor and not to these platforms.


The food Category finalists will receive a number based on the number of Likes, shares and votes their video received during the public voting period for their food category.

The Finalist achieving the greatest total number of votes will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner. (“votes” as defined in the above chart), in their respective food categories (one (1) grand prize winner per food category; three (3) in total for the contest duration), will be determined the winners, and will be announced as such according to the schedule listed above.

The food category winner will be notified by phone or email after their name has been announced.

Final determination of winner is always conditional on verification of eligibility and compliance with all rules and procedures.

In the event of a tie, the Sponsors will refer back to the original score based on the Judging Criteria (above) from the video submission to determine the winner. The entry with the highest Judging Criteria score from the sponsor will win.

The Winners may be announced on-air on LIVE and/or online on and/or LIVE social media accounts, and/or Sponsors may make recordings of the Finalists/Winners receiving the prize, which recordings may appear on-air on LIVE and/or online on and/or LIVE social media accounts. Any announcement or appearance on-air or online is subject to availability. Sponsors are not responsible for cancellation or preemption of the contest or the Sponsor’s program or for other circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill this element of the prize. This element of the prize has no approximate retail value, and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this element, Sponsors’ only obligation will be to provide the remainder of the prize, if any. Prize elements may not be separated.

In the sole discretion of Sponsors, Entrants’ may be featured in videotaped and/or live broadcast segments on LIVE and/or online on and/or LIVE social media accounts, or may be used in connection with the marketing and advertising of the Promotion or Sponsor by any means or method whether now known or hereafter devised and in all media, including, but not limited to online or social media, worldwide in perpetuity. If featured or used, Sponsors reserve the right to edit any submission materials in their sole discretion.

X. PRIZE(S): One (1) Grand Prize Winner for each food category will receive a Prize in a form of a trophy issued by “Live.” Each weekly Finalist (9 in total) chosen to come to New York and prepare their dish on the show will receive a $500 prize.

Three (3) weekly Finalists during each Challenge period will be brought to New York City to appear in segments on “LIVE”, as determined by the Sponsors. All videotaped and live production will be determined at the sole discretion of the Sponsors. Prize Provider will furnish either roundtrip economy/coach airline tickets for the Finalist via a Prize Provider-selected air carrier(s) from a major commercial airport selected by Prize Provider in its sole and absolute discretion or if in the judgment of Sponsors and Prize Provider air travel is not required due to Winner's proximity to New York City, ground transportation may be substituted for roundtrip air travel at Sponsors’ and Prize Provider’s sole and absolute discretion. Transportation carrier regulations and conditions apply. Finalists are responsible for any applicable taxes on any travel expenses actually provided by LIVE.

Any appearance on LIVE is subject to availability. Sponsors are not responsible for cancellation or preemption of show or for other circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill this element of the prize. The appearance portion of the prize has no approximate retail value and if it becomes impractical or impossible to fulfill this or any element, Sponsors’ only obligation will be to provide the remainder of prize, if any. If, for whatever reason, a segment or program is cancelled or rescheduled after the tickets are ticketed, no compensation will be paid in lieu of any cancelled or rescheduled show. No responsibility is assumed by Sponsors and Prize Provider if a show is cancelled, rescheduled, delayed or postponed, in whole or in part. Winner must follow all instructions of Sponsor relative to the Prize trip. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the prize. Should Winner fail to adhere to any such instructions or engage in unruly, obnoxious, illegal, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate behavior (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), Sponsor reserves the right, to terminate the trip or other applicable experience early and send Winner home and/or take other actions as Sponsor deems appropriate in its sole discretion without any liability or other obligation to Winner.

Prize is not redeemable for cash or transferable. No substitution allowed except, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted. Sponsor will not replace any lost, mutilated or stolen tickets, travel vouchers, certificates or prizes. Prize elements may not be separated. Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. The prize winners shall be solely responsible for any applicable federal, state, provincial, local taxes and/or local laws and regulations, and the reporting consequences thereof, and for any other fees or costs associated with the prizes. Winner will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any prize valued at $600 or more and must submit a validly executed IRS Form W-9 to claim prize.

The ARV's of all prizes are furnished by the prize suppliers.


By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, Judges and/or the contest administrator, which shall be final in all respects.

By participating in this contest and accepting any prize that they may win, entrants agree to release “Sponsor,” their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, advertising and promotion agencies and prize suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives and employees, as well as each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns, and Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/YouTube (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, injury, loss or damage arising in any manner, directly or indirectly, from participation in this contest and/or acceptance or use of the prize.

Entrants authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner’s list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.

By submitting entry materials, entrants certify that such materials are original and created by entrant, that entrants have the necessary rights, permission and authority to submit such materials, and, if applicable, that entrants maintain a valid copyright in the materials. Entrants acknowledge that such materials may be included and/or discussed in a broadcast, that such discussion may include statements or opinions by the broadcast talent or others about the entrants, the entrants’ appearances and/or the materials, and that those statements and opinions may be considered surprising, humiliating, embarrassing, derogatory, defamatory or otherwise offensive or injurious to them, Sponsor’s employees, its studio or at-home audience and/or other third parties. Entrants release the Released Parties from any actions, claims, injury, loss or damage allegedly caused, directly or indirectly, by any use of the materials and/or such statements or opinions made in connection with them during a broadcast.

To claim prize winner must: (a) provide proof of winner’s age, residency, and legal status; (b) sign and return eligibility, publicity, liability, rules compliance and any other releases requested by Sponsor; and (c) have winner’s intended guest(s) or travel companion(s), if any, sign and return releases requested by Sponsor; all within the time period(s) specified by Sponsor.

VII. MISCELLANEOUS; WINNERS’ LIST Void where prohibited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the Contest in the event of tampering or other circumstances, including but not limited to acts of God or civil disturbance that render it impractical or impossible to complete or fulfill the Contest as originally planned.

List of winners and these rules will be posted on for at least 30 days after winners are finally determined.
